The People Of God Prevail

God blessed the Holy City with protection. When the enemies of the people of God came to destroy the city and the temple, they were turned back by the fear of God. God was rooted in the fortress (fort) of the people. God protects people by watching over them from the citadel (tower). God guarded the ramparts (the battle roads) around the city. Psalmist called for people to count on the ways God protected the holy city and her people forever. People believed that God guided and protected all God's people until the end.

As we move forward we praise our God for the care and blessing that have been provided for us. We know God protects our church and its people. If enemies seek us out, God protects us and turns back our enemies. We must honor and praise a God who has never let us down. God had been our fence, our fortress, and our guide on the roads of life. Only because of God shall we go forward in strength. We shall prevail.
